In December 2012, Legacy Ballet began a new holiday tradition for families here in Albany and the surrounding areas.  Many families look forward each year to an annual performance of “The Nutcracker” and we have one, right here in Albany!  Originally hosted by the Russell Tripp Performance Center, our annual Nutcracker is now hosted by the Albany Performing Arts Center. As a cast member or audience member we hope you will join Legacy Ballet’s next annual full-length community production of “The Nutcracker”. All local dancers ages 6 and up are invited to audition and participate in Legacy Ballet’s annual production of “The Nutcracker”. Auditions for 2026 will be held Saturday September 19th, 2026 SAVE THE DATE!

Please note attendance to rehearsals is vital to having a wonderful, smooth performance.  Please be aware only ONE rehearsal can be missed, besides Thanksgiving weekend.  If more than ONE rehearsal is missed, you could potentially lose your role in the Nutcracker.  We have limited rehearsals for each scene to prepare, so let’s make them count!
